Welcome
I'm a record producer and lecturer in Music Technology at the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa. I primarily make use of SUN Music Recording Studios in Stellenbosch. The genres of music I capture and produce includes rock, pop, classical, choral and jazz. I am a member of the Audio Engineering Society and the Association of Independent Record Companies South Africa.
Recording Philosophy:
- My goal is to support what the artists would like to communicate with their music, and enrich and magnify the artistic message.
- A recording studio is a compositional tool where quality of timbre and depth perception are considered as important as the notes being played.
- Although gear and the recording space is not everything, it should never get in the way of capturing a great performance and therefore I find it quite important to use the best one can find.
- Maintain a positive and creative atmosphere during the production.
